Forum Directory

How did you find The Forum Directory? Was it word of mouth? Did you find it doing a Google search? From FreeForums.org? A link on another website? Something else?

Please be as specific as possible. If someone told you about it (and you know their screenname) tell who. If you did a search on a search engine, such as Google, what keywords did you look for and what search engine? If off a website somewhere, which one?

(Hook, if you would rather this be elsewhere feel free to move it. Also, feel free to edit it however you want (add options, etc.)

Well, I found out about the Forum Directory from FF Promotion Forum, but not in a thread for the Forum Directory. I actually saw a link to it in Hook's Signature on a post he made in a thread about my forum.

Others see your talents, strengths.....things stuff and such. You are an asset to every forum you belong to and admin in, the owners of these forums know it too. :wink:

Seriously though, How it all started was that I wanted a Directory of ALL the forums at FreeForums.org so that I could browse them and find ones that I really liked.
I asked FreeForums if they would do one.
They replied to me that they would "Ask the boss" and see if they could do one.
They came back with that they had thought about it and had decided that they didn't want one and really didn't want to bother with one.
Soooo, I thought that I would start one and so I did start THIS one.

Originally it was only for FF forums, but so many wanted in from other hosts that I decided to include ALL good forums!
We still denote whether they are FF (freeforums hosted), FFA (freeforums advanced hosting) or NON-FF, because at one time I thought we MAY separate FF forums from the other forums.
We decided not to do that but we still maintain the designations. :wink:

And so it goes!

well, as i known Hook for a while, we met on FF, but im no longer there, yes i know the help forum misses me,
but Hook did join my new home, so you could say we support each other no matter what host you use.

I had no idea that this site even existed...until Hook himself payed a visit to my forum and asked, very politley I will add, to come check this site out. I am glad I did as I think his mission of creating a directory of forums is WAY past due.
